Why Most Virtual Training Fails Agency Leaders

Recently one of our team members signed up for a virtual summit. Within the first hour, she heard:

  • The entire history of marketing

  • Who owns the most market share

  • Several speakers very impressed with themselves

  • “Drop a 🔥 in the chat” more times than she could count

What she didn’t hear? Anything useful.

  • No implementation
  • No framework
  • No clarity
  • No behavior change
  • Just a QR code on every slide pushing the VIP upgrade

And it reminded us of something important: When agency leaders hear that training is “virtual,” this is probably what they picture. And if that’s what virtual means, we wouldn’t want it either!

The Real Problem Isn’t Virtual. It’s Vanity.

Most online training and coaching today is overproduced and under-practical. It’s 80% hype and 20% surface-level information, disguised to upsell you into something else. It feels less like education and more like a marketing funnel. There’s no real structure, no accountability, no clear implementation plan, and ultimately no meaningful change. You might leave feeling temporarily fired up, but most likely completely underwhelmed and feeling like you wasted your time.

What Virtual Training Should Look Like

Virtual doesn’t have to mean passive. In fact, when it’s done correctly, it can be more powerful than in-person events. We made it our mission to never be boring or a waste anyones time. Inside The Sitkins Network, our virtual sessions are:

  • Interactive - People talk to each other and the coaches

  • Structured - Every session builds on the previous one

  • Behavioral - We coach standards, not just ideas

  • Practical - Members leave with specific actions

  • Engaging - No one is asking for fire emojis

It feels less like a webinar and more like sitting in the same room together. What actually changes an agency isn’t more information. Most leaders already have more ideas than they can implement. What creates real progress is reinforcement, clarity, accountability, and clear standards that don’t move. And that kind of change only happens through real conversation and coaching not cheerleading from a slide deck.

The Bigger Issue Agency Leaders Don’t Realize

Many agency owners say: “We don’t want virtual training.”

What they really mean is: “We don’t want another sales pitch disguised as education.”

But the format isn’t the issue, the intention is. If the goal is transformation, virtual works incredibly well.
If the goal is upselling VIP tickets, it becomes noise.

If You’ve Been Burned by Virtual Before…

If you’ve had a bad experience with virtual training before, that’s understandable. It probably means you expect substance, not hype. Just don’t let one disappointing experience cause you to write off something that, when done well, can truly transform your agency.

If you’d like to see what structured, high-accountability, implementation-focused virtual coaching actually looks like, schedule a 15-minute call. We’ll walk you through it and let you experience the difference for yourself.

We promise no one will ask you to drop a fire emoji. 🔥
